Hello, I'm Boris Glumpler from Germany. How're you going?
Over the last 20 odd years I operated bulldozers in the New Zealand bush, tended bar in Thailand, caught fish in Indonesia and worked as a divemaster and instructor all over Southeast Asia.
I also taught myself to code, which is what I do nowadays for work and which allows me to travel so much.
I like working but it's not what defines me and I'd rather go for a hike than earn a lot of money.
So far, whenever I went on a hike, I just took off and figured that I got fit along the way. This time round I'm gonna walk a bit longer, so just winging it doesn't seem too clever. You can follow my training runs below or on Strava.
It took me a good few months of running and a couple minor injuries to get to the point where I can comfortably manage longer distances 4-6 times a week, but I'm there now! The goal is to run around 80-100 km every week until I take off.
